Janice Marie Koth Obituary
POQUOSON - Janice Marie Koth, 68, passed away at home on Monday, November 28, 2016. Janice Marie Christopher was born July 17, 1948, in Agawam, MA, the daughter of Albert and Jennie Petrangelo Christopher. Janice was baptized and confirmed at St. John the Evangelist Church in Agawam. Completing her school years in Agawam, she attended Springfield Technical Community College, obtaining a degree in Respiratory Therapy. Janice was united in marriage to Al R. Koth on October 1, 1976, at Homestead Air Force Base, FL, and partnered with and supported her husband through sixteen years in the United States Air Force, through six different assignments including three-year tours in Germany and Japan. She supported U.S. Military Service members as a Red Cross volunteer with about 4000 hours of service. Janice continued her respiratory therapy work at times in local hospitals, and through diligent efforts attained the credentials of a Registered Respiratory Therapist. She worked in the Riverside Hospital System in Home Health Care and in the Main Hospital until her retirement. Survivors include her husband, Al; sons, Christopher and Anthony; grandchildren, Abigail, Lydia, Benjamin, and Daniel; brother, Thomas; sisters, Cathleen and Anne Marie; and extended family and friends. Janice was preceded in death by her parents. A visitation will be held Friday, December 2, 6:00 - 8:00 PM, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson. A Funeral Service for Janice will be held Saturday, 11:00 AM, at Poquoson Baptist Church led by Pastor Hopson Boutot. A reception will immediately follow at the church.
