Jean Westphal Lynch Obituary
Jean Westphal Lynch, 75, died Monday, April 16, 2018. A lifelong resident of the Peninsula, she retired from NASA as a Public Affairs Specialist in 1995 after more than 30 years of service which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was a former member of East Hampton United Methodist Church and more recently was a very active member of Crooks Memorial United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she adored her family. She loved to travel and socialize with her friends. As a resident of the Villas, she served as Chairman of the Social Committee and played cards twice a week with the ladies. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Elsie Westphal and her granddaughter, Amanda Clark; survivors include her husband, Rev. H. Jack Lynch; son, Brad Drummond (Heather); daughter, Ann Clark (Tony); six grandchildren, Stephen Drummond, Ashlen Clark, Taylor Drummond, Amber Clark, Brian Clark, and John Drummond; her sister, Paulette Westphal; three step-children, Becky Montgomery, Walter Lynch, and Kathy Brice; her eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 PM Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Crooks Memorial United Methodist Church, 204 Cook Road, Yorktown. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM by Rev. Lisa Barbery. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crooks Memorial United Methodist Church.
