Bless you for helping to correct a serious miscarriage of justice, while your office was in Alexandria, VA. You are forever in my memory with deepest gratitude.

Captain Corcoran was my first "boss" at the Board for Correction of Naval Records. I was a very green, direct commissioned Lieutenant in the then new Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps. He was a great mentor with a sharp Irish wit and an absolute pleasure to be around. I remember fondly lunches with him at the now long-gone Navy Annex. I am saddened to hear of his passing and will remember him in my prayers.

To the Family of John and Betty Corcoran:

I knew John and Betty through the Kiwanis Club of Newport News. John helped me understand the goals and focus of Kiwanis and guided me into taking leadership positions with the club. They were a delightful couple, fun to be with, led challenging conversations, and their marriage was one I viewed as a model for mine. They will be sorely missed and have surely left the Virginia Peninsula a better place because of their community service.

With love,
