John L. BAILY Sr. Obituary
POQUOSON - John L. Baily Sr., 77, a native of Bronx, N.Y., and Poquoson resident for 26 years, passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at home surrounded by his family.
He retired after 31 years of Civil Service as a System Analyst for the U.S. Air Force and Navy. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a faithful member of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church, Tabb.
John was preceded in death by his son, Donovan Baily; and parents, Gladys and Charles Baily Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Donovan Baily; son, John Baily Jr. and wife, Colleen of El Paso, Texas; daughters, Elizabeth Ware and husband, Myron, Laura Baily, Patricia Jackson, and Sarah Baily; grandchildren, Ashley Baily, Eoin Baily, Brighid Baily, Padraic Baily, Molly Baily, Morgan Baily, Kelsie Ware, Connor Ware, Casey Ware, David Jackson Jr., Luke Jackson, and Hannah Baily; brother, Charles Baily Jr.; sister, Joan Caughlan; and many nieces, nephews, and brothers-and sisters-in-law.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 3800 Big Bethel Rd., Tabb, immediately followed by a Mass of the Resurrection by the Rev. Charles J. Faul. Burial, with Air Force honors, will be Tuesday, at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton (time will be announced Monday night).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the , 213 McLaws Circle, Suite 2-B, Williamsburg, VA 23185; or to Bon Secours Hospice, 485 Rodman Ave., Portsmouth, VA 23707.
