Obituary Condolences

POQUOSON - Jonathan David "Jon" Worley, 27, a native of Newport News, and a Poquoson resident the past 14 years, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 3, 2011, as a result of an automobile accident.
Jon loved playing basketball; he was named MVP at the Virginia Catholic Conference as a J.V. player for Peninsula Catholic High School. He graduated from PCHS in 2001. He was an excellent student throughout his schooling, and received the National Merit Award Scholarship. He went on to several colleges and was last attending CNU. Jon was an avid New York Giants football fan and loved going out to dinner if mom wasn't cooking. He was a loving son, "big brother", great friend to many, and will be missed for a lifetime.
Jon was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, June Louise Divita; and his paternal grandmother, Rose Marie Worley.
He is survived by his mother, Cynthia E. "Cindy" Gross; father, Robert Joel "Bob" Worley III; a brother, Steven "Fuzz" Worley; grandfather, James Divita Sr.; two uncles, James "Jim" Divita Jr. and wife, Karen and Donald W. Worley; aunt, Diana S. Denham and husband, David; five cousins, Chad Denham, Christopher Denham, Jimmy Divita, Michael Divita and Steven Divita; "special family", Terrie Seitz and Charles "Charlie" Southall; and many loving friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, March 6, 2011, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, and other times at 11 Lessies Drive, both of Poquoson. A Celebration of Jon's Life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Poquoson by the Rev. Dr. Bill Wash and Director of Youth Ministries, Brent Staul. Inurnment will be private at a later date.
