Kathleen M. "Kay" Moore Obituary
POQUOSON - Kathleen M. "Kay" Moore passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at home with her family by her side. Kay was born on October 5, 1928 in Poquoson where she lived her entire life. She was a graduate of Poquoson High School and a member of Emmaus Baptist Church. Kay was a homemaker and was famous for her chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies. If you told her you wanted to lose weight, you got only one cookie or a small piece of cake. Kay was preceded in death by her beloved husband for 29 years, Gordon E. Moore, Sr.; parents, Harry and Lizzy Moore; sister, Jacquelin Montgomery; and brother, Harry Moore, Jr. She is survived by her son, Gordon E. Moore, Jr.; daughters, Linda M. Carper and husband Larry, and Teresa M. Anthony and husband David; grandchildren, Chris Carper and wife Jessica, Kenneth Carper and wife Benita, Brandon Moore and wife Emily, Heather Keller and husband Louie, Derek Anthony, and Dennis Anthony; great-grandchildren, Troy Carper, Emma Carper, Henry Moore, and Benjamin Carper; brother Charles Moore; sisters, Coretta Forrest, Norma Baker, Joan Page, and Jean Shores; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 11, 2016, 7:00-9:00 PM, at the Moore home, 194 Emmaus Road, Poquoson. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 12, 2:00 PM, at Emmaus Baptist Church, Poquoson, led by Rev. H. Ben Topping, Jr. Burial will be in the church cemetery immediately following the service.
