Kathryn V. FORREST Obituary
POQUOSON - Kathryn Virginia Myers Forrest, 89, a native of Portsmouth, resident of Hampton for 16 years, and Poquoson resident since 1961, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011, after a short illness.
She was a graduate and salutatorian at Churchland High School, and attended Mary Washington College. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hampton since 1945.
Mrs. Forrest was a member of the Hampton Women's Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, was a homemaker, and an excellent cook well known for her homemade biscuits. She was a woman of faith, a kind, caring, loving person, and a friend to everyone.
Mrs. Forrest was preceded in death by her husband, B. Felton Forrest, and infant brother, Winston Myers.
She is survived by a son, Ronald F. Forrest of Williamsburg; a daughter, Martha Anne Forrest of Gloucester; grandson, William Forrest Robinson of Gloucester; great-granddaughter, Lillian Marie Robinson of Gloucester; two brothers, H. M. Myers and wife, Mary Virginia of Suffolk, and Elwood Myers of Portsmouth; two sisters-in-law, Nannie Forrest of Poquoson and Celia Forrest Prince of Toano; five nephews, seven nieces, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, Sandra and Ken Riddick of Tabb.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. today, at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News.
