Lemuel David Taylor Obituary
POQUOSON - Lemuel David Taylor, 46, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 29th, 2015 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. David was a lifelong resident of Poquoson, graduated from Poquoson High School in 1987, and was employed at Costco for 25 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Men's Bible Class. One of David's greatest pleasures was enjoying his grandparents' boat, the "Miss Esther," and he and his dad spent many hours maintaining the boat. He loved the water and enjoyed fishing and spending time on the boat with loved ones. David is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 21 years, Denise R. Taylor; daughter Samantha E. Taylor; son Aaron D. Taylor; parents Sherry C. & Frank A. Taylor Jr.; sisters Vallie T. Hunt (Rick) and Deborah T. Mahanes (Chris); sisters-in-law Suzie A. Cantrell (Clyde) and Kimi D. Johnson (Charles); aunts Nancy T. Graham (Martin), Jane C. Beimler (Harold), Joanne C. Thorne, and Deena S. Cross; 14 nieces and nephews, 4 great-nephews, and a great-niece, all who dearly loved their "Uncle Bub"; and many cousins. David was preceded in death by grandparents Esther E. & Frank A. Taylor Sr., and Pauline F. & Joseph S. Cross; parents-in-law Deanne L. & James E. Boyce; and uncle Dennis L. Cross. David was very proud of his family, and considered his children his greatest accomplishment in life. A visitation will be held Monday, June 1, 6:00-8:00 PM, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, and other times at the family's home. A Celebration of David's life will be Tuesday, June 2, 2:00 PM, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Poquoson by Rev. Charles R. Stacy and Pastor Kent Woodward. Interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1294 Poquoson Ave., Poquoson, VA, 23662. Online condolences to claytorrollins.com . "The family would like to thank Dr. Elizabeth Harden and staff of Virginia Oncology, and Donna Blankenship and staff of Heartland Hospice. They are also grateful for the support of friends, neighbors, and co-workers throughout David's illness."
