Lt. Col. Willis Hicks Robertson USAF Ret. Obituary
POQUOSON - Lt. Col. Willis Hicks Robertson (USAF Ret.), 65, passed on to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 28, 2016. He was born in Mobile, Alabama on August 5, 1950 to Carl Robertson, Sr. and Mary Hicks Robertson. He graduated from Auburn University in 1972 and pursued a successful 29 plus year career in the United States Air Force, where he worked with the Heritage Flight Demonstration Team, and served on the Presidential Advance Team for the George H. W. Bush administration. Willis was an active member of Poquoson Baptist Church in which his warm heart for people was widely known. His passion for helping others, sharing his faith in Jesus Christ, and demonstrating the love of God, has touched many lives. His example of godly living and service has been an inspiration for countless people. Willis is survived by his wife of 44 years, Shelly Fowler Robertson; three children, Melissa Starr Kimble & husband Chad of Madisonville, TN, Evan Robertson & wife Heather of Longmont, CO, and Amanda Johnson & husband James of Woodbridge, VA; five grandchildren, Grant Kimble, Alicia Kimble, Lynley Kimble, Drayton Robertson, and Rachel Johnson; brothers, Carl T. Robertson Jr. & wife Cindy of Scottsboro, AL, and Paul Robertson & wife Martha of Griffin, GA; and a sister, Tina Wellborn & husband Gary of Douglasville, GA. He is also survived by his daughter-of-the-heart Rebekkah Chriscoe & husband Victor of Gloucester, VA; and 3 granddaughters-of-the-heart, Justice Sellers, Sarah Evans and Sophie Chriscoe. The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 5, 6:30-8:00 PM, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson. A Celebration of Will's Life will be held Saturday, Feb. 6, 3:00 PM, at Poquoson Baptist Church by Pastor John Pouchot with full Air Force Honors.
