Margaret V. MESSICK Obituary
POQUOSON - Margaret Virginia Faulk Messick, born Dec. 12, 1922, in Wilson, N.C., and resident of Poquoson most of her life, passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at The Chesapeake Retirement Community Healthcare Unit where she spent the past 10 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her wonderful cooking was enjoyed by all, especially her family.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Robert Messick; son, Bobby; brothers, William, Isaac, and Preston; and sister, Josephine.
She is survived by three sons, David (Stephanie), of Newport News, Billy (Frances), of Seaford, and Jimmy (Beth), of Poquoson; a brother, Barney Faulk (Mary), of Newport News; a sister, Mevalene Smith, of Callahan, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Alma Behlar, Gladys Faulk, and Martha Faulk; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, immediately followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home by the Rev. Dr. Bill Wash. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton. At other times, the family will be at 166 Odd Rd., Poquoson.
