Marilyn G. WESEN Obituary
POQUOSON - Marilyn Gail Wesen, 69, peacefully reunited in death with her beloved husband, Col. Charles Lee Wesen, on Sept. 11, 2011. Her final days were spent at home with her family by her side as she went to rest from her battle with Cancer.
Gail was born Nov. 2, 1941, to the late James B. and Doy Margaret Stinson in Klamath Falls, Ore. She graduated in 1960 from La Sierra High School in Carmichael, Calif. She met Lee on a blind date, then they married in 1964. They journeyed in mutual support through all of Lee's stations and posts around the world with the United States Air Force.
In 1987, Lee passed after his battle with cancer, at the age of 49, while stationed at Leavenworth, Kan., as Army Air Force Liaison. Gail returned with their children to their home in Hampton, Va. She then attended college and graduated, in 1992, with a B.A. in Business from Christopher Newport University, while also earning a separate degree in Theology from the University of the South, Sewanee, Tenn., in 1990.
Gail is survived by her much-loved family; son, Steven B. Wesen of Richmond, Va.; daughter, Ann-Marie Jaques and husband, Jason of Poquoson; her grandchildren, Ryan D. Jaques, Makayla B. Jaques, and Dean C. Jaques, all of Poquoson; sister, Carolyn D. Locke; and brother, James B. Stinson Jr.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, 836 Poquoson Ave, Poquoson. Following will be a gathering welcoming friends and family at the Oxford Run Club house on Wythe Creek Road. Funeral services will be held in Washington state at a later date.
