Maxine Olivia Darden Obituary
Maxine Olivia Darden answered the Master's call on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. Her life's journey began on June 3, 1935, the daughter of the late George and Gracie Lee Britt, of Severn, North Carolina. She was a longtime member of St. John Baptist Church, Penniman Road and served her church as Vice-President of the Pastor's Aide Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler and participated in many State and National Bowling Tournaments. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Maxine leaves to cherish her blessed memories her daughters, Patricia Anne Darden and Pearl Christina Boose (Carlton); her son, Chris C. Darden; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many other loving relatives and a host of caring friends. A celebration of her life will be held 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2108, in St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Hudson officiating and the Rev. Robert Allen, eulogist. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will assemble at 104 Douglas Drive by 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mrs. Darden may be viewed on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
