Myrtle V. McIntyre Obituary
Myrtle V. McIntyre, daughter of the late Magdalene Gillis and William Reynolds, departed this earthly life, surrounded by her family on August 4, 2018. She was born on March 6, 1939 in Hampton, VA. She graduated from Phenix High School in 1957. Myrtle retired after 36 years of employment with the government at Fort Eustis. She was one of the few women who was a certified female forklift driver. Myrtle had a heart of gold and was very loving, kind, funny, giving, caring, non-judgemental, and very direct in her approach. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Mac" McIntyre, her brother, Elroy Reynolds and her grandson, Reginald Perry, Jr. Left to cherish and celebrate her memory is her son, Frank "Nicky" Garner, three daughters, Magdalene "Bunnie" Perry (Reginald), Bridgette Hughes (James), Tina Johnston (Stanford), a sister, Clementine Phillips (John), 4 grandchildren, Rochelle Perry, Stanford Johnson, Jr, Brittany Johnson, and Jayda Hughes, 4 great grandchildren, Nekya Perry, Tekya Perry, Reginald "Reggie" Perry, Aiyah Perry and Pernell Reynolds, sister in law and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A special thank you to her loving cousin, Dadie Diggs and long time high school friend, James "Fly" Wynder, Dr. George Kannarkat and his team and Ms. Estelle Scott, caregiver. The graveside service will be conducted Friday, August 10, 2018, 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Anderson Clary at the Hampton Memorial Gardens, Butler Farm Road, Hampton, Virginia. Professional services are entrusted to the Cooke Brothers Funeral Home, Newport News, Virginia.
