POQUOSON - Patricia Nettles Harrington departed this life on Monday, June 27, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She grew up in Hilton Village, Newport News, and has been a Poquoson resident since 1972. Pat graduated from Warwick High School, and Westhampton College of the University of Richmond. She retired from Poquoson Public Schools, serving as a teacher at the Primary and Elementary schools. She was a devoted member of Christ The King Episcopal Church, Tabb, and was active in the Bible Study Group. Pat loved sailing trips and traveling with her husband and family. After her husband's death, she was very involved in the Victory YMCA groups and activities. She enjoyed her "morning walk with God" everyday at the marina. Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Richard "Dick" Harrington, and parents, Alice and Edward Nettles. She is survived by 3 daughters, Susan Beard and husband Dean, Janey Harrington, and Courtney Rollins and husband Mark; grandchildren, David Forrest Bruce, Price Foster, Shannon Rollins, Brendan Rollins, Erin Rollins, and Christopher Beard; and great-grandchild, Karley Beard. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 29, 7-8:30 PM, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, and other times at her home. A Celebration of Pat's life will be held Thursday, June 30, 2:00 PM, at Christ The King Episcopal Church by Rev. John J. Lynch. Pat and Dick's ashes will be joined for interment at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Pat may be made to Christ The King Episcopal Church, 4109 Big Bethel Road, Yorktown, VA, 23693. Online condolences to claytorrollins.com .
