Patrick HEWETT Obituary
He is survived by his devoted wife, Kimberly N. Hewett; daughter, Jasmine Nicole Cook; son, Patrick McWanza Hewett Jr.; parents, Perry and Virginia F. Hewett; two brothers, Lt. Col. Marcus O. Hewett and Shelton Deon Hewett.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Big Bethel Road, Hampton. Burial will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
Viewing will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at C. C. Carter Funeral Home, 3314 Roanoke Avenue, Newport News.

To the Family of the Beloved Patrick M. Hewett, Sr.: Almighty God Who is the Author of all life, from Whom our spirits have come and to Whom they return, has looked down in our midst and called from our family circle, a husband, a father, a stepfather, a son, a brother, a nephew, a cousin and a friend. We the members of the Cherry-Hewett Family pause in the sacredness of this hour to acknowledge our debt of love to Him, Who giveth life and taketh it away. It is a moment of this intense reality that we all realize that the angel of death has been among us; and be aware of the fact that we too will soon be brushed by its wings. These are the times and occasions when our feelings seem to impose silence; so we can turn our eyes towards Heaven to our Eternal God, Whose Heart is always opened with Love in response to our many needs, in times like these. To the wife, Kim, children and stepchildren, and the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hewett and the entire families of the late Patrick McWanza Hewett, Sr. we extend our sincere condolences and prayers to you all. May the Spirit and the Love of the Almighty God saturate your hearts, minds and spirits in the Mighty Name of Jesus! May God's Peace and Understanding cover The Hewett Family at this time. I have fond memories of Patrick when we were kids. We hung out at his house on the porch or in the backyard next to the store playing basketball. I remember riding our bikes to Fort Monroe, what an adventure! :)
