Rudolph M. HOLLOWAY Obituary
POQUOSON - Rudolph Manning Holloway, 65, a native and lifelong resident of Poquoson, passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, with family by his side.
Manning worked at Sturgis Newport Business Forms, for over 20 years, after the business closed their doors, he went to work the water as a Waterman for four years. Leaving the water, Manning went to work for Trinity United Methodist Church and retired in February 2012, after 19 years of service. Manning was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church and served his community as a volunteer fireman for many years. Manning was a humble and quiet man who loved his family, friends and community, and will be greatly missed by all.
Mr. Holloway was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Delia Holloway; and a brother, David Holloway.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rose D. Holloway; a daughter, Danette H. Zasimowich and husband, Miles; grandchildren, Casey Zasimowich and Ben Zasimowich; brothers, Tim Holloway and wife, Barbara, and Barry Holloway; mother-in-law, Elethia Diggs; sisters-in-law, Barbara Holloway and Darnette Withrow; and a brother-in-law, Eddie Diggs and wife, Nannie; and numerous extended family.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, and at other times, 15 Evans Grove. A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Monday, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Poquoson, by the Rev. Charles R. Stacy and Pastor Buddy Chapman. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.
The family would like to thank the Peninsula Cancer Institute, Dr. Kim Schlesinger, nurse Jacobie, Riverside Hospice, and especially hospice nurse, Jessica Hunter, for their excellent care. A special thank you to Everett and Karen Hess for being caring neighbors and to sister-in-law, Darnette Withrow, for her continuous love, support, and company.
