Sandra "Sandy" Berryman passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 6, 2019. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Benjamin R. Berryman. She is survived by her daughters; Anne Berryman, and Susan Landis (Jon); her beloved granddaughter, Amelia Landis; sisters, Marsha Baker (Robert), Margo Feliv (Brian) and Wanda White (Nancy). Also surviving are a niece, nephew and many cousins.Sandy graduated from Florida State University, and was an avid supporter of their teams. She retired as the Assistant Director of Field Operations for the Virginia Employment Commission following a distinguished career of service to the agency and the public. Sandy spent two years in Ecuador as a Peace Corp volunteer.Sandy was a communicant at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, a lifelong Democrat, and an amazing woman. Her strength and wisdom will be greatly missed by her family. Great comfort is taken in the knowledge that she is reunited with Ben, who she loved so dearly.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 12, 2019 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Surry. The family is being served by R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel.
