POQUOSON - Sarah "Bernie" Vaughan, 67, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015. She was born in Richmond, VA and was a resident of Poquoson for 36 years. Bernie was employed at the Child Development Center of Langley Air Force Base for 10 years. She was a member of Parkview Church of God. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Nannie Sheffield, Brother, Elvin Sheffield, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ronald Vaughan; daughters, Terry Stanley (Jeff), Tracy Adair, Cynthia Luark, and Vicki Vaughan; grandchildren, Amanda Reynolds, Douglas Reynolds, Jr., Jennifer Wiehe, Sarah Luark, and Stephanie Adair; four great-grandchildren; nieces, Donna and Kaitlyn; nephew, JP; and many other loved ones. The family will receive friends from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Parkview Church of God, Newport News. A service will immediately follow at 7:00 pm., officiated by Pastor Rev. Mark Hambrick, Rev. David Hagee, Rev. John Thorne, and Rev. Bob Collins. Interment will be at 10:00 am on Friday, December 18 at Parklawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkview Church of God Children's Fund, 1116 Briarfield Road, Newport News, VA 23605.
