Stephanie L. Neison Obituary
NEWPORT NEWS - Stephanie L. Neison died Sunday, February 19, 2017 in a hospital in Williamsburg, after a long battle with breast cancer, at the age of 48. Stephanie dedicated her life to serving her country in the United States Air Force. Rising to the highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant, she had achieved one of her life goals, proudly sitting in the top 1% of the enlisted force. Stephanie was an Iraq war veteran whose career spanned 29 years where she touched many people in a positive way, as she was dedicated not just to her work, but to helping her troops, co-workers and colleagues. Stephanie is survived by a daughter Brittany Neison; two step daughters, Cherilyn Neison and Stephanie Neison.; mother Mildred Swanson; and three brothers, Robert Swanson, Don Swanson and Terence Swanson. Stephanie was an amazing Mom. Fully dedicated, loving, protective and epitomized the concept of unconditional love. She was the ultimate role model for her daughter Brittany, step daughters and others who ended up referring to her as Mama Neison. Stephanie was a loving, caring, spontaneous and fun loving person who loved to travel. Like in her work, she truly enjoyed helping people in her personal life as well. She will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Main Base Chapel on Langley Air Force Base. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a breast cancer charity or Wounded Warrior organization in honor of Stephanie. Arrangements by W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home.
