POQUOSON - Theresa Elizabeth "Terry" Cannella, 70, born October 11, 1945 in Woodhaven, Queens, New York, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theresa and William Kayser, and brother, William, all of Queens. Terry was a doting mother of her six children and thoroughly enjoyed her fourteen grandchildren, watching countless athletic events, recitals, plays, and other activities. She was active in Poquoson Sports Boosters, and in the Knights of Columbus in New York. Terry leaves behind her loving husband of 51 years, Salvatore Cannella Sr.; children, Salvatore Cannella and wife Hope, Richard Cannella and wife Natalie, Thomas Cannella and wife Danielle, Timothy Cannella and wife Shauna, Theresa Cannella, and John Cannella and wife Jennifer; her cherished grandchildren, Sal III, Richie, Lance, Thomas, Alyssa, Travis, Alex, Emma, Grace, Sydney, Abby, Justin, Brandon, and William; her loving sisters, Patricia McKenna of New York, and Marilyn Dunn of Georgia; her nieces and nephews that she loved as her own children; her best friend Inga McMinn of Yorktown; and many extended family and friends in New York and Poquoson. The family will receive friends Friday, April 22, 6:00-8:00 PM, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson. A Mass of the Resurrection will be Saturday, April 23, 10:00 AM, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Hampton, by Father Sean Prince. Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Hampton. A reception will follow, with location announced at the church.
