POQUOSON - William Edward "Bill" Insley Sr., 87, a native & lifelong resident of Poquoson, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 peacefully at home. He retired as an Ordnance Technician at Yorktown Naval Weapons Station; was a WWII Navy veteran; loved fishing, and enjoyed building houses and boats. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Lucille Holloway Insley; a son, William E. Insley Jr. & wife, Linda; four daughters, Nancy Hunt, Carolyn Hicks & husband, Joel, Joyce Crandell & husband, Jim, and Susan Carpenter & husband, David Jr.; five grandchildren, Karen Hueschen & husband, Brian Hallon, Diana Hueschen, David Carpenter III, William E. Insley III, and William Hunt. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, 2:00 PM, at Hampton Memorial Gardens, Hampton, by Rev. Milford C. Rollins, with Navy honors. At other times the family will be at the home. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Poquoson Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. 2099, Poquoson, VA, 23662.
