William Warren "Billy" Forrest Obituary
POQUOSON - William Warren "Billy" Forrest, 84, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014. A native of Poquoson, he was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the George W. Amos Men's Chorus; and the American Legion Poquoson Post 273. Billy served in the Navy as an Airman, and was in the Korean Conflict. He served his apprenticeship with the Engineering Design School at Newport News Shipbuilding, and later worked at Gibbs and Cox, and M. Rosenblatt and Son, Inc. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, John William Forrest and Birdie Holloway Forrest; and two sisters, Dale Forrest and Delores Forrest. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Harriet P. Forrest; son, William Bryan Forrest and wife, Laura of Newport News; daughter, Martha F. Watson and husband Peter of Newport News; and grandchildren, Ian T. Watson, Dylan R. Forrest and Kyra L. Forrest. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 10:30 AM-12:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church, Poquoson, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM in the church by Rev. Charles Stacy, Rev. George T. Insley, Jr., and Rev. Milford C. Rollins, with special music by The George W. Amos Men's Chorus. Other times the family will be at home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Poquoson Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 2099, or Trinity United Methodist Church, 1294 Poquoson Ave., both in Poquoson, Va., 23662.
