NEWPORT NEWS - Woodrow James 'Woody' Kincaid, 88, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007. A native of West Virginia, he came to Newport News in 1939 and was employed as a Cost Engineer for Newport News Shipbuilding. In 1985, he retired after 45 years of service. He was a Third Degree Master Mason of Wilmington Lodge #319 A.F. & A.M. and was a member of 'The Roadsmen' and 'S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A.' Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Kilpatrick Kincaid; two daughters, Anne Kincaid Luna and her husband, Rey, and Janet Kincaid Jenkins and her husband, Terry; two grandchildren, Angela B. Kincaid and James P. Williams; great-granddaughter, Sarah Alicia Mann; and his faithful dachshund, Luci. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of CCU, Riverside Regional Medical Center and Dr. Robert Feely. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, at Peninsula Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. William G. Lamont, with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hidenwood Presbyterian Church Music Fund, 414 Hiden Blvd., Newport News, VA 23606, Newport News Fire Department, 2400 Washington Ave., 6th Floor City Hall, Newport News, VA 23607, or the American Heart Association, 500 Plume St., Suite 110, Norfolk, VA 23452.
