To the Howard family, You are on my mind and in my prayers.I know what it like to lose a sibling. The void never goes away but the pain is replaced by beautiful memories. I communicated with Michael through e-mail a couple of years ago. It was great getting caught up on family history.

Dear Desi and Family:

Please accept my condolences in the loss of your dear loved one, Michael. I am so saddened to hear the news of Mike's passing. However, we know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Yet, I weep with you, as you weep.

I met Michael in first grade and we have been fast friends ever since. In fact, on the day of his passing, I was having a conversation with my granddaughter about male friends--and it was Mike's friendship I used as an example.

That is ironic since the last in-depth conversation I had with Mike was concerning synchronicity and destiny (synchrodestiny). How apropos that I should catch his vibe on the day of his passing. I am honored.

Although I never saw Mike after high school, we always stayed in contact via the telephone or email.

I will always remember Mike for his great wit, big laughter, kind heart, and true friendship. Most of our relationship centered around laughter and joy, as well as fond memories of growing up and the great community from which we emanate. There is a space in my heart that I cannot even define because of his passing.

Mike--you know I love you. Rest in peace! We shall see you again. Until then; I pray thee--you, that so a great cloud of witnesses, and the ancestors, pray for us because we are still here.

Much love to you all.
