GLOUCESTER POINT - Chip Booth (O. W. Booth Jr) passed away unexpectedly on the morning of November 23, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Mack Booth and Dr. Orin Watts Booth, and his daughters, Stacey and Kelli. He is survived by his beloved family: wife, Brenda of 43 years, granddaughter Ashley, brother Ernie, and many other cherished family and friends. Chip attended Fishburne Military School, before completing a degree in Accounting at the University of Richmond. He worked as an executive in the field of temporary services for Manpower for many years before opening his own branch of Westaff in 1988. Chip was well known for his larger-than-life personality, sense of humor, generosity and compassionate nature. His love of family and friends served as a beautiful example to all. Chip was involved in numerous groups including Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, the Fukawiemen Fishing Group, the Rotary Club of Oyster Point, Kon-Tiki II, and the Hilton and Kingsmill Tennis Clubs. He was also known affectionately as Santa Chip and as "Boy" by his granddaughter. The service will be held at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd, Newport News on Saturday November 29 at 10am, followed by a private burial. The family will receive friends from 2pm - 6pm at 1279 Vernon Street, Gloucester Point. Parking will be at the end of Vernon Street. Overflow parking near 1356 Mercer Road (next door) on the left side of the road. Donations may be sent to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or the .
