Jeffrey Camden Obituary

Camden, Jeffrey "Jeff", 48 of Saint Petersburg passed away unexpectedly on November 8, 2017 in Ocala. Jeff was born in Michigan but spent most of his childhood in Virginia and continued to reside there until his enlistment in the Marine Corps in 1988. Jeff is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Camden. Jeff is survived by his wife Susan, daughter Cassidy; father Bob Camden and stepmother Sharon; sister Kerry Brown (Teddy), brother Michael Camden (Heather), sister Nikki Camden; nieces Jane and Abby Brown and nephew JP Brown. Jeff was a hard and dedicated worker and rose within the building departments of Manatee County, City of Bradenton and most currently served as the Building Safety Director/Building Official of Marion County. Jeff was a wonderful person and a devoted father. Jeff often coached Cassidy's softball teams and was a member of All Pro Dad. He was blessed to have a strong Catholic faith and tried to better himself daily. Jeff loved to run, fish and hunt especially in the mountains of Virginia. Jeff will be forever missed. Not sure what to say?

Cassidy , I'm not sure if you'll ever read this but I want to share something with you. I found out through a friend of mine that your dad was her boss. I happened to be sitting at the park the day your dad passed away in my car eating my lunch. I was the only one there. I jumped out of my car called 911 and did my best to save him with CPR. I'm so sorry I couldn't.
I will never forget this date it sticks in my mind. Your post after he passed has always touched my heart. I'm not sure how old you are now but I always will remember you too. I just lost my momma Sept 4th. So painful I understand the pain now. I was blessed to have my momma here with me until she was 80. Anyway I busy wanted to try to reach out to you. Maybe someday you will see this.
Sincerely
JOY

Jeff,

Two whole years have passed since we lost you, but it seems like just yesterday. You would have just turned only 50. Still too young. I pray you are at peace.

Forever in my heart.

Dad. Wow. Even if you were still with us I'd be at a loss for words for what to say about you. But I can start with a memory. One of my favorites. It was a Girl Scouts Craft Swap. I was so excited, all of my friends and I would be attending this craft swap. The night before, everyone canceled. Except me. I went. Just me and mom. It was embarrassing. Then I saw this guy coming down the hall. Didn't think much of it so I turned around and began to trade with other girls. I turned around to swap with another girl and there you were. Tall, dashingly handsome of course, and with your very own personalized shirt that said, "Troop 76." What Dad would do that? You of course. We embraced and I was so happy. So so happy. There was so much about you that day that I loved. You always gave the best hugs. The best best best hugs. Your skin was always so moisturized. Your Dolce and Gabbana "The One" cologne. I have your cologne on my dresser. Each time I smell it I cry and then smile, and then cry some more. I'm crying now if you haven't guessed. I bet no one will see this message but I know you do up in heaven. I love and miss you so much. I'm going to live my life to the fullest. I'll get married, have kids. Go to college before all that of course. I've been doing pretty good in school, but I'm clearly under stress. I'm just sad. I want you to walk me down the aisle. I want to take a picture with you on my prom rather than my prom date. But, that won't happen. But that doesn't happen for other people either. Some peoples fathers weren't even there the day their kid was born. I love you. Like I said, I'll live my life to the fullest. Once that's all done, I'll see you.

I have known you since high school and through all the ups and downs life has handed you. I cannot wrap my head around this loss. My heart aches and goes out to your family, especially Cassidy. You two were so close and this loss at such a young age is simply awful. I know you will be watching over her and I hope she can feel your presence and be comforted. I love you and always will.

Jeff,

A lifetime ago... the North end, burlap shorts and sun dress, lost wallet at 4AM. Boat trips and birthday celebrations with W.T., deep discussions and Disney movies. "Raspberry Courvoisier" and marathons.....

Gone, but never, ever forgotten.
