Edward Watts

Edward Hansford Watts Mr. Edward Hansford Watts, 88, of Lexington, NC, and formerly of Bedford, VA, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013, at his residence. Born August 15, 1924, in Rockbridge Co., VA, to the late Norita Roberts and Erskine Kyle Watts. He served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Watts enjoyed playing bluegrass music and painting. He worked as a graphic artist for Piedmont Label in Virginia from which he retired. Mr. Watts was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Moneta, VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kyle Watts; and sisters, Sally Durr and Katherine McCulley. Surviving are his daughters, Kim East, Kathy Dickson and Karen Watts; brothers, Bill Watts of Mooers, NY, Irvin Watts of Bolling Green, KY, and Dorman Watts of Richmond, VA. Six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home in Bedford, VA.
