CHARLES "CHUCK" A. ABBATE JR. AGE: 83 HACKETTSTOWN Charles "Chuck" A. Abbate Jr. passed away on Wednesday, November 8th 2010 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center in Hackettstown. He was 83. He was born and raised in Garfield. He lived in Parsippany for 43 years and Lakehurst for 9 years before moving to Heath Village in Hackettstown 3½ years ago. Chuck served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a Salesman for Chrysler Motors in Boonton for over 40 years before retiring in 1996. Chuck was a member and past District Governor of Rotary International. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mildred "Midge" C. (nee-Cicala), who passed away on 2/20/1995; and his sister, Ninfa Corrubia, who passed away on 12/6/2007. Survivors include his wife, Jane K. (nee-Kelly); his sons, Charles A. & Andrew & his wife, Judy; his five step-children and their families; his sister, Marie Volpe; his grandchildren, Corey, Christian and Corinne; and his great-granddaughter, Haley. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered today, Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 10:30a.m. at Our Lady of the Mountain R.C. Church, 2 East Springtown Road, Long Valley. Cremation: Private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to Rotary International, c/o Hackettstown Rotary Club, P.O. Box 561, Hackettstown, New Jersey 07840. Arrangements are under the direction of the Par-Troy Funeral Home, Parsippany (973) 887-3235.
