David Barrett Sr.

DAVID BARRETT, SR. AGE: 73 STROUDSBURG, PA David Barrett, Sr., 73, formerly of Flanders and Dover passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Hospice House, E. Stroudsburg. Born in Newark, NJ, he was a long time resident of Dover before moving to Flanders and then here to Stroudsburg 9 years ago. Mr. Barrett was a truck driver for Lakeland Express of Dover for 15 years, before working as a fork lift operator for Allstate Business Products of Randolph for 23 years. He retired in 2008 from Toys"R"Us, Flanders as a truck driver after 10 years. He retired after 30 years from the National Guard as a Staff Sergeant serving at the Dover Armory and then Hackettstown Armory. Member of the Flanders American Legion Post. Predeceased by his son: James Barrett in 1995 and his two brothers: James and Charles Barrett. Survived by his former wife: Margaret Roeger of Stroudsburg, PA; six children and their spouses: David Barrett, Jr. of Stroudsburg, PA, Kathy Davies and Dimka of Stroudsburg, PA, Debra Post and Chris of E. Stroudsburg, PA, Donna Waldron and Keith of Lake Hopatcong, Jacqueline Knapp and Chris of Landing, Ginger Howell and Don of High Bridge, NJ; brother: Paul Barrett of Dover, NJ. Also survived by twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 31st at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St. Wharton from 7-8:30 PM followed by a funeral service at 8:30 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to Hospice House, 412 E. Brown St., E. Stroudsburg, PA 18301 will be appreciated.
