Robert "Bob" Nicholoff

Robert "Bob" Nicholoff died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at home after a long illness, surrounded by his wife and children. He was 85. Born in Kemerovo, Siberia he lived in New York City and Cambria Heights, NY before moving to Stanhope 56 years ago. He was the son of the late Constantine and Zora Nicholoff (Radeva). Bob was a veteran of WW II, serving with the U.S. Navy. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from CCNY class of 1951. For 27 years Bob was a Chemical Engineer in Stanhope and New York City. He was then employed as a Chemical Engineer with Picatinny Arsenal in Rockaway Township for seven years, after which he retired in 1989. He was a former member of the Stanhope Planning Board and a member of the Roxbury Area Airplane Club.

He is predeceased by his daughter, Lisa Ann Nicholoff in 2009 and his brother, Nicholas in 2011. He is survived by his wife, Julia; his four children, Nina Nicholoff and her husband, Alfons VanBlaaderen of Utrecht The Netherlands, Robert M. and his wife, Nancy of Frelinghuysen, NJ, Adam and his wife, Sandra of St. Clairsville, OH, and Marydahma Nicholoff and her husband Michael Stack of Kansas City, MO. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, 31 Main St, Netcong, NJ ( In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Nicholoff's name to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, NJ 07860.
