Harding Twp. - L. Donald Horne, 85, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018 at his home in Harding Township, New Jersey after a brief illness. Don was born on February 20, 1933 in the Bronx, New York to Louis George and Mary Florence (Arnett) Horne . Don graduated from Evander Childs High School and Pace University as a Ceritified Public Accountant. On June 5, 1955 he married his high school sweetheart, Cathleen Marie Hackett at Our Lady of Refuge Church in the Bronx.

Don began his career as a CPA with Ernst and Ernst in New York City. He went on to work for Hudson Pulp and Paper Corporation in West Virginia and later settled in New Jersey where he worked for P. Ballantine and Sons, Litton Industries, and culminated his career as Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Mennen Company. He also served on the Board of Directors for numerous corporations, charities and community organizations. Don retired in 1995.

He is survived by his wife Cathleen, and his four children: Patricia Anne Jenkins and her husband Robert of Mendham, William Donald Horne and his wife Vicki of Boonton Township, Kimberly Susan Doyle and her husband Richard of Mahopac, NY, and Bradley Louis Horne and his wife Sarah of Denver, Colorado. He is survived by eleven grandchildren, Tara and Delia Jenkins, Donnie and Caroline Horne, Max, Erin, Connor, Kevin and Cathleen Doyle, and Ian and Devon Horne. He is also survived by three step-grandchildren Kyle, Amanda and Sam Stillwell. Don was happiest when surrounded by his loving family, or on the golf course, or out in his garden. He will be forever loved and remembered by those who knew him.
