Clark George Edward Hinkley

AGE: 90 • Roxbury Township

Mr. Clark George Edward Hinkley, 90,Roxbury Township, died on April 10, 2017 at his home. He was born in Peakville, NY and lived in Rockaway before moving to Kenvil 50 years ago. For 50 years he was a union brick layer, first in local #37 in Dover and later in Local #4 in Morristown. He served in the U S Marine Corps during WW II and was a member of the VFW Post #7241 in Port Jervis, and of the American Legion Post #0278 in Stanhope. He had a 75 year career as an accomplished country music musician and song writer. He also played the guitar under the name "Clark Kent" and opened for Buck Owens and Jonny Cash, and also performed at many Veteran's Hospitals.

He is survived by his wife Joyce E Hinkley of 68 years, daughters; Karen Batchelder of Kenvil, and Patricia (and Brian) Cruickshanks of CT, and grandsons; Michael and Steven Batchelder. He was predeceased by his son Carl Thomas Hinkley in 1960.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Wednesday (April 19th) from 7 - 9 pm. Military Honors will be held at 8 pm. Donations may be made in his name to the charity of your choice.
