Heather Daniels Obituary
On December 9th Dr. Heather Daniels, MD, Developmental Pediatrician, passed away at home in the presence of her family. Heather was born in Corvallis, OR on June 6th, 1949 and knew she wanted to be a doctor at the age of 2. After graduating pharmacy school at the top of her class she joined the Army which paid for her medical school, internship and residency. While serving at Ft. Riley, KS she met Chap. Terry Daniels and they were married for 38 years.
After their daughter Christa was born, Heather entered civilian life and practice. She worked for Dr. Carl Plonsky at Union Avenue Pediatrics in Tacoma from 1986 until her retirement in 2014. She also saw patients in her home for some years. Her proudest moments were in the care she was able to provide for her patients, but she had many hobbies. Volunteering for her church and she also spent over a decade participating in intercessory prayer. She believed that every child was "top quality".
4 years ago, when her LBD became apparent, she moved to Ellensburg to be closer to her daughter. The family wishes to thank the entire Community for their understanding and support throughout Heather's illness.
She is survived by her husband Terry, daughter Christa and brother Peter. She is already missed.
Memorials will be arranged post COVID. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations made in her name to FISH food bank.

Dr. Daniels was an amazing blessing to me as a young mother in 1988. Her compassion, reassurance and positivity were the basis for any confidence I developed in parenting. While we moved here to Ellensburg shortly after the birth of my second child in 1994, we continued to commute back to see "Heather Sue" for several years, as it was difficult to leave a beloved pediatrician. After so many years, her impression as an amazing provider and a beautiful human stays alive with me. May your memories of her bring you comfort in your time of sorrow.
