Funeral for Billy Hayter, 84, of Nacogdoches, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at Scott's Temple Church of The Living God with Bishop Robert Johnson Jr. and the Rev. Robert Land of Sandhill Baptist Church will be officiating. Mr. Hayter died Sunday, April 3, 2016, at a Nacogdoches hospital. He was born to Jim Hayter and Arena (Esco) Hayter, Dec. 22, 1931. Mr. Hayter was a veteran of the U.S. Army and then worked for Nacogdoches Independent School District. Mr. Hayter was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Davis) Hayter. He is survived by his children, Joe Alton Davis, Billy Ray (Glenda) Chatman, Billy Earl (Belissa) Moore, Patricia (Charles) Hutchings, Loretta Davis, Linda Hayter, Phyllis Clark, Billie Jean (Donald) Townsend, Keith (La'Shan) Hayter, Rochelle (Lee) Jones, Corrie (Tikia) Caldwell; and two sisters, Fannie Blaton and Lannie Deckard. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Sadler Chapel.
