Well, I was googling kids that I remembered from my childhood in texas, and Paul Kelly, I remembered you from Andrews. I was so sorry to find this about your son. What can I say, children are on loan from God. He places them in our careing and loving arms, and calls them home when he sees fit. You and your family are in my prayers.

Mr and Mrs Tripplehorn-

I see the horrible tragedy of this more than anyone can know...I accidentally came across the loss of your son. I am a Christian and also suffer from bipolar. I am a student and sometimes everything is so overwhelming. It is so hard for people to understand the darkness of this disease. I found the comments of your son to be a glimmer of the wonderful person God was perfecting...I also know that what you can be sure of is that in his Father's hands he now finds peace to something that we do not fathom. In his witness and struggles, I see a hope that I can make a difference and if one is touched and saved...your amazing Paul had a ministry no one can deny! What a wonderful legacy of Christ...not perfect just forgiven. He had overcome so much scrutiny but shone bright. I don't know why some are taken so young but like Jesus (who was taken so young) they leave an impact that changes lives! God bless you and keep close to your heart that you will see him again. His bipolar is healed and His Father welcomed His faithful servant!

To the Tripplehorn family-

You don't know me, and yet your loss has touched me deeply. Our sons played on the football field against each other in high school, though I only learned about that today as I read with sadness about Kelly's death. Please know that for the many people who share your grief and offer you sympathy, there are even more whom are unknown to you, and are sending you prayers for strength and comfort. After reading about your son, I have no doubt his life, although tragically short, will positively infuence the lives of many in the future. His legacy will continue. May God bless you in the days, months and years to come.

My last memory of Kelly is at Steeplechase a couple of years back. He spoke to me in detail concerning his newfound mission in Christian broadcasting. We had an extensive conversation about his vision and journey and I was inspired by his passion. I will always remember Kelly as a vivacious, passionate person. All of our hearts are heavy with sadness. Please know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers each and every day.

My dear Charlotte and Paul, I am devastated by the news of the death of sweet Kelly that I just received. I am well aware of the tremendous pain you and your family are suffering and would have come by to give you hugs from my heart if I had known sooner. One of the thoughts that gave me some comfort was how fortunate I was to have loved and shared the life of my sons, rather than never to have known them at all. Family, friends, and faith are most important in this time of grief and I know you have all three. Much love, Bertie

Charlotte and Paul,
I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved son Kelly. While I did not have the pleasure of knowing him, I heard so much about him from Dorothy. And after reading his website and all of the guest book entries, I know he will be sorely missed by all in your family and so many friends around the world. I was planning on flying in today with Leila but my schedule was interrupted and I had to cancel at the last minute. I am there in spirit and I know that you have immense love surrounding you with all your friends there at this moment. Dear Tripplehorn Family,

I was so saddened to hear about Kelly's passing. He was always so impassioned with whatever task was at hand. Over the past few years especially, Kelly and I always made a point to get together when I was back in Fort Worth. Kelly provided me with much encouragement and never failed to challenge me in the best way. I will truly miss him.

While I am thankful I got to spend a few hours with Jacob over break after hearing the news, I will regrettably not be able to fly back from New York for the funeral tomorrow. Your family will most definitely be in my thoughts and prayers moving forward.

May God Bless You All. Be well.

Tripplehorn Family,

I am deeply sorry for your loss. When I heard the news, an old saying immediately came to mind, "a candle that burns twice as bright, only lasts half as long."

Kelly will not be easily forgotten, as he typically (and I believe, strategically) positioned himself to be the focal point of all our fun memories! A party just wasn't a party until Kelly arrived, and do you know it was he who convinced the entire student body to "fight the man," (and our "oppressive" uniform code) by wearing zany knee-high socks to school. Because it was Kelly, everyone followed unquestioningly. Thank you for each and every day that was blessed with Kelly's infectious passion and quirky sense of humor. He knew how to breathe fun into the mundane, and will be greatly missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and all his close friends. May you find strength in Christ and comfort in His presence.

Dear Tripplehorn family,

I was very saddened to hear of the loss of your son, brother, and grandson Kelly. I was privileged to study with him at Westminster over this past year. I admired Kelly for his open-heartedness and friendliness, his discipline, and his passion for Christ. His presence will most certainly be missed on our seminary campus. I pray that God will comfort you at this time.

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:10).

I am very saddened to read of the loss of your beloved son, Kelly. You do not know me nor did I know your son but I too lost my dear child this past year at the tender age of 18, he too suffered from bipolar disorder. I am very familiar with your loss and the extreme pain you are in. I too know the journey you now embark...the one of sorrow that will challenge your very faith...I have found only two choices in this matter. Despair or God. The first attempts to envade from time to time and brings only loneliness, doubt, anger and pain...the other, however, brings me grace through my pain and through that I find a sense of peace. Though it makes no sense to lose the one we love at such a tender age we know deep in our souls that we will see them again and a glorious day that will be. I do not alway understand God's ways nor his thoughts but I always believe he knows what he is doing and he tells us to stand fast our faith in him, regardless of the circumstances. I pray that he will send his angels to comfort your broken hearts and that he will give you times of rest upon this tragic journey with the cool water of his grace. Please know you are not alone through this valley...that he is with you and someday, together we will all live in Glory with him and we will see our lost children again. God Bless this family.

Tripplehorn family,

My family and I are so sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I was fortunate to run into Kelly at the grocery store a couple of weeks ago and share a quick hug with him for which I am now grateful. Something I will always remember about Kelly was his passion -- no matter what he was pursuing, he gave it his 200% -- and I was excited to hear that he was channeling that passion toward his studies and film production. Please know that his friends will miss him and always remember the fun that he brought to our high school memories.
