PAYNE, Phyllis Phyllis Weaver Payne was born on September 28, 1924 to Grace and O. J. Weaver in Fort Worth, Texas and went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2016. Loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by so many. Phyllis graduated from Texas Christian University and then married Lawrence J. Payne, the love of her life. Their 66 years of marriage consisted of many adventures, as Larry's career with Stanolind Oil and Gas Co. had them move from state to state. They settled in Dallas in 1959, where they raised their family. Phyllis enjoyed her interior design business, Phyllis Payne Interiors, along with many Dallas organizations, The University Park United Methodist Church Wedding Ring Class, Craig Class, Dance Club and Caprice Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and travel. Mostly she treasured her family and friends. Her 91 years were full of life, joy, love and generosity to those around her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her son, Keith Payne and wife Rita, daughter Loren Adair and husband Spencer, granddaughter Shannon Goodman and husband Jonathan, grandson Wiley Adair and wife Danielle and great grandson Elliot, and grandson Hayden Adair, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, May 20th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave. Dallas, Texas. A memorial service to celebrate Phyllis's life will be held on Saturday, May 21st at 1:00 PM at University Park United Methodist Church, 4024 Caruth Blvd, Dallas, TX. A reception will be held in Fellowship Hall following the service. The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Edgemere for helping make such an enjoyable living experience, and her doctor, Maureen Gutierrez for her excellent care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to University Park United Methodist Church or the .
