Pamela Gay Abernethy Obituary
ABERNETHY, Pamela Gay Pamela Gay Abernethy went to be with her Savior early Sunday morning, June 9, 2019 in time to worship Jesus at church in heaven. She loved her Lord and was eager to share her faith with others. On Sunday mornings, Pam loved going to church and singing praise music and worshiping Jesus with her husband Frank. Pam was married to Frank Abernethy for 47 years and frequently called him the "love of her life". Pam and Frank enjoyed cooking together every evening and sitting in the backyard talking with neighbors, admiring Pam's garden and watching the sun set. They shared a deep love that was visibly special and immediately inspiring. Pam was fully devoted to her family and loved sharing life with them. She was blessed with two children, Les and Kim, whom she loved deeply. Whether she was cooking special meals at home, planning holiday celebrations, or meeting for dinner at Mi Cocina, she loved spending time with her family, and loved to love her family. Pam's love was contagious and inspiring; she loved to love others. Pam carried this love for others into her counseling practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Pam was personally committed to her counseling clients at ROCA Counseling, the counseling center she started in 1995. Pam saw every counseling session as an opportunity to share her faith and provide hope for those who needed it the most. Her primary focus was oncology-related counseling including diagnosis, treatment and grief counseling. Pam is survived by her beloved husband Frank, her son Les and his partner Kyle Webb, her daughter Kim Holbrook and her husband Lon Holbrook and their three children Cody, Madison and Landri. She also leaves behind two sisters Cindy Farmer and Shelia Danley and her precious nieces and nephews. Pam is preceded in death by her twin brother Dewain Hale. Pam will be missed deeply by her family and all who had the chance to experience her gift of loving others. Visitation for Pamela will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Garland, located at 801 W. Ave D., Garland, Texas 75040
