I never met you...we never spoke...YOUR actions and sacrifice will never be forgotten. As I sit in my living room and watch them try to save your life...I feel as I witnessed something so intensely private...regardless whether it was right or wrong to be in the war...YOU gave your life for our AMERICA.... How much we all take for granted....even breathing. There are no words to convey to your mom and dad...I am speechless..............I'm going to volunteer at the your name. May God Keep You Close.

To the family of LCPL Charles "Seth" Sharp: My son Seth Lamoreaux served on that day with your son Seth. He tells me that when someone or the group was down in spirt Seth Sharp was always the "one" that would lift their spirts with a joke or some uplifting comment. My son and our family will never forget Seth's sacrafice. The impact it has made on my son's life has no words as he carries a tatoo on his side with a saying about LCPL Seth Sharp. I can assure you, his family, that his sacrafice was not in vain, but has changed the lives of many young men in a very meainingful way. I think of him often as echo company is about at the end of yet another tour and I hope there last in this war. God bless Seth and all of you, his family.

It only seems fitting that I should write on this Fourth of July. If not for you, your brothers in arms, our veterans and all branches of the Military, we wouldn't have the freedoms that we do today. Freedom of speech and religion, but also those small things we take so forgranted; like walking our dog, taking a drive, and even shopping. I think you for this. Thank you just doesn't seem enough. I will HONOR you until the day I die, and, I WILL NEVER FORGET.

Dear Sharp Family & friends...
I just watched a rough cut of an upcoming NPR program "Frontline." The show mentioned Lance Corporal Sharp's incident and him being the first to fall on the Operation his unit was on in July of 2009. I wanted to learn more about Charles "Seth" Sharp. I found him to be a wonderful young man, representing the best that our country can produce. As a Vietnam War veteran who trained at Fort Benning Georgia in 1968, I understand the pain Seth's family and friends are enduring. You'll learn that over time you'll never forget the fond memories of loved ones lost in war. As you age and move on, Seth and the fallen will forever remain young and vibrant in your memories. We shall never forget those who gave the supreme sacrifice, while protecting our Freedoms. This is a time to recognize and honor the fallen such as Charles "Seth" Sharp.

Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to LCpl Charles Sharp our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Charles. And to Charles it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Charles, you are a brave Marine Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,353 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Charles’ family and loved ones. Semper Fi !

Dear Family of Seth Sharp,

I am a close friend with your son, We spent many long nights on our deployment to Ramadi talking about home, our families and Loved Ones, and the fun times we would have in Atlanta. He was an inspiration to me, I was there to teach him new thing about the Marine Corps and training, but it was Seth that taught me the most important things about LIFE! How to have fun, appreciate those around me, how to be a good person, and how to be HAPPY no matter where we were or what was going on. We had alot of time together as we rode to and from Atlanta with Joe(Pledger) and his laugh and his smile will never leave my mind. I loved your Seth as a Brother, he was a very courageous, caring, young man. I will always remember the fun time we had in Iraq, and the many hours we spent together stateside. He was My HERO, and My Role Model. He will be whom I will always strive to mirror! Your Seth will remain in my Heart as a Friend, Confidant, and Brother! He will never be forgotten, nor will I ever forget the improvements he had on me and all those around him!

Stay Strong, and know that he will forever be with us, still guiding us in Life!

In Loveing Memory, of My Friend, and Brother SETH SHARP!

I Love You Brother!
