News Death Notice
KESSLER, Carol C. Age 79, of Vandalia, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013, at Miami Valley Hospital. Carol was born November 27, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late James & Alice (Ruessman) Vargo. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Kessler, Sr., in 2002; one sister, Alice Arthur; and by two brothers, Paul & Jim Vargo. Carol is survived by her sister, Dorthy Howell; her five boys and their wives, Jerry, Jr. & Gail Kessler, Mike & Mary Kessler, Tony & Millie Kessler, Scott & Shelia Kessler and Greg & Lori Kessler; ten grandchildren, Kensey & Jason Love, Ben & Julie Kessler, Holly & Joe Di Biase, Sam, Grace, Amanda, Nathaniel, Madison, Paige & Dylan; five great grandchildren, Cecilia, Lucas, Mia, Sarah and Mason; sister-in-law, Jan Vargo; Teresa & Mari Sibilia; cousin, Ruth Ann Blakely; and by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Carol was a member of Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church and active with the Young at Heart Club. She retired from Marianist Mission and attended Northridge High School and was still active with the Alumni Association. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Queen of Martyrs Church, 4144 Cedar Ridge Road, Dayton. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving family & friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 29, at the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME "Northridge Chapel", 5040 Frederick Pike @ Needmore Road. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses & staff of Miami Valley Burn Unit for their compassionate care during her time there. Mike and Mary, I'm so very sorryfor your loss. Miss Carol was a special lady and it was a pleasure to know her and you as well. I wish I could have attended her memorial but I have been very sick myself. Thank you for all your kind words through this struggle. It was an honor to take care of her. Many prayers.

Jerry and Mike, Sorry to hear of Carol's passing. I couldn't be there, Dad had eye surgery that day. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. I had a lot of fun years ago bowling with Carol and my Mom. Carol is in peace now.
