News Death Notice
KLOSTERMAN, Cyril Leo "Cy" age 90 of Beavercreek, OH, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aloyius H. & Agnes (Gillig) Klosterman, his sister, Rosella Kessler, all of Celina, OH; his infant son, Richard, and his grandsons, Joshua Johnson and Isaac Klosterman. Cyril honorably served in the US Army in WWII and participated in the Normandy Invasion. He apprenticed as a machine repairman and later worked and retired from Delco Products. He loved his family, to garden, and give to others. After retiring, he volunteered his services and taught English as a second language (ESL) at the Dayton YMCA for 25 years. He also volunteered at the Corner Cupboard thrift store for 35 years. Cyril is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ann Claire (Reinhard) Klosterman, children, Judy Tausch, Joe (& Carmelina) Klosterman, Jim Klosterman, John (& Sue) Klosterman, Jerry Klosterman, Jeff (& Lillian) Klosterman, Jane Klosterman, Marian Klosterman, Michael (& Christina Baranowski) Klosterman, Madonna (& Terry) Johnson, Nancy Klosterman, Susan (& Chris) Hampel and Madeline Klosterman. Grandchildren: Lisa, Jeremy, Jennifer, Scott, Andrew, Christopher, Nicholas, Emily, Heather, Shannon, Shelly, Ethan, Sylvia, Chelsea, Rebecca, Benjamin, Brendan, Tristan, Adam, Justin, Ashley, Tyler, Amy, Luke, Claire and Hannah, 15 great-grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews and friends. Cyril is also survived by his brother, Mark (& Diane) Klosterman. A memorial service will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH 45432. A gathering of friends will take place from 1-3 PM. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
