News Death Notice
SMITH, Carl R. age 88 of Lewisburg, OH, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013. Carl was born December 11, 1924 in Dayton, OH, son of the late Earl and Sarah (Lentz) Smith. He proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps. during WWII. Carl was a school bus driver for Trotwood Madison School District for 34 years and he was a dairy farmer and grain farmer for all his life. Mr. Smith is survived by 3 sons, Dennis, Phillip and Doug (Tami) Smith; 6 grandchildren, Denny, Leslie, Jason, Jenny, Amber and Sytease; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 brother; 4 sisters; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Betty W. (Putterbaugh) Smith on May 22, 2012; grandson, Kevin Smith; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. The family will receive visitors 5:30-7:30PM Friday March 1, 2013 at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home & Crematory, 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St., Dayton, OH 45415. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, in Carl's memory. Online memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerhazelsnider.com
