News Death Notice

BROWN, Jr., Grover age 87 of Fairborn, passed away Friday October 4, 2013. He was born June 9, 1926 in Washington C.H., Ohio, the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Dora Marie (Dowler) Brown. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Robert "Bob" Brown; granddaughter, Angela (Brown) Combs; two sisters; and two brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary; children, Richard (Nola) Brown of Xenia, Carol (Bill) Wilson of Fairborn, Vicki (Carlos) Linder of Fairborn, Lamont (Sandy) Carroll of Centerville, Roger Brown of Fairborn; grandchildren, Tina VanHoose, Trina Stromberg, Barbara Ross, Mark Mozerniack, Angel Ashbrook, Carlos Linder, Jr., Jacob Linder, Jeremy Linder, Jessica Recker, Samuel Carroll, Josh Brown, and Stacie Fox; 26 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many great friends. Grover served his country in the US Navy during World War II and followed as a builder and contractor; building many houses and apartments over his lifetime. He paved the streets of Hamilton Plat and named them after his family. Grover established Grover Brown Septic Tank Service in 1947; and was always kind, honest, and generous to everyone he met. He will be missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends on Tuesday October 8, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton- Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday October 9, 2013 at 10:30 A.M., Pastor Clarence Brown and Rev. Lamont Carroll officiating.
