I worked for Tony at Warner-Lauren Ltd. He was one of the funniest men I ever knew. Great story teller, a stand up guy. I learned a lot from Tony. Wish we could have stayed in touch over the years. One of the good things about the internet is that you can find people and friends from years gone by. Unfortunately, some times too late. RIP, my friend. We had some great times.

I just found out of this terrific loss. Some people have only a chance to touch a few hundred people in thier lives,as we know Mr.S has touched millions and will continue to.Oddly,I was running out of my Chaps that Tony gave me about ,sheesh, more than 20 years ago, only to discover that they don't make it anymore.I found some on ebay and was curious why it was not made anymore and ran across this guest book and was floored.I was just up there too.He was a great man and as I have drifted away from Clifton I will always have fond memories of his devotion and wit and somewhat irreverend sense of humor.I used to love to tour people through the General Store he had.It was a nice collection.A true history buff.My deepest sympathies to Pat, Tony my old friend, and the beautiful daughters Andrea and Kristen.I can only imagine the the brightness of heaven now with all those lights he brought up there! If we are lucky and good enough it will light our way there.God Bless and Godspeed

Wow, what a family, what a man. I use to work with the Satariano Family helping them with their menu's and any commercial printing they needed when I worked in Xenia. After moving to Texas Anthony Jr and Sr. wrote one of the most heart felt recommendation letters I have ever received. I recently came back to visit after leaving Ohio more than 8 years ago, only to learn of the sad news when I visited Anthony Jr. Anthony Sr. was such a kind gentleman and I remember him showing me his collection of Santa's on a private showing and how proud he was, after seeing his face light up, I decided to start collecting Santa's too, he was my inspiration for doing this and I continue to do so and every year I collect a new Santa, I have always thought of the Family at Clifton Mill. He will be truely missed and I was devistated to here the news. The Satariano family has always treated me like a family member and that meant the world to me and I will miss him. I was utterly shocked when I sat down for lunch and found out and deeply saddened. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Anthony Jr. You and your family were always the best customer I had or will ever have! God Bless You! I really miss you all!

So sorry to learn of Mr. Santariano's passing. He retained the infectious enthusiasm for life of a child and was always such a positive force to be around. The Mill will always be a monument to his kind and generous spirit. I never fail to think of him everytime I hear the Halleluiah Chorus. I imagine he's already strung a few strands of lights on the Pearly Gates. He will be missed!

To his lovely wife and son Anthony my deepest sympathy. Tony was an incredible person and will be missed by those whom's lives he touched. Having worked for him at Paul Sebastian for many years I grew to love him as family. When he bought the Mill it was as if he'd given birth to a child. There are to many wonderful times to count. Anthony take care of your mother.

To Pat, Anthony, Andrea, Kristen and the family --
Our village has lost one of its favorite residents. I miss seeing Tony cross Water Street with his cup of coffee in the morning -- waving hello. His warmth, his colorful stories, and his great laugh will never be forgotten. Jak and I were blessed to be Tony & Pat's neighbors. I always knew if an emergency arose, I could dash across the street, and Tony would know exactly what to do ...kind of like having a "Village Dad!" Our deepest sympathies go out to you all.

We extend our deepest condolences to Patty and the entire family.

I remember Micky from long-ago street football and baseball games on Glendale Avenue in Dayton. I always wanted to be on Micky's team, because he was older, very friendly, and a winner.

More recently, we remember Micky and Patty being such gracious hosts at the Mill in Clifton on a football Saturday in October. It was also so good to get to see them both again at more recent Kessler family weddings.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

God has not created all men alike. He has crowned a select few to be as kings among his fellow man. They are graced with a great sense of purpose, broad sympathy, and an optimism for the spirit and talents of each and every man. They understand, with all it weight, the purpose of fatherhood, and of brotherhood. These chosen few are delivered to led and guide us. They challenge and inspire us to be more than our own self thoughts have allowed us to be. It is a rare privilege to walk with, and talk with, such a man of great vitality and powerful grace.

Mr. S. was such a king. He was our king, he was my king. He earned and wore his crown well. His body may have left us, but his reign will continue, led by the multitudes who have been transformed by his leadership and unfailing character. I miss him, and will miss, as will many others. I am thankful for knowing him. For knowing him is truly like walking among the kings of kings.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Satariano's family. Each Christmas Clifton Mills' glorious displays have brought expressions of wonderment to my children. Though I have never met Mr. Satariano, he has touched my heart by touching what is most important to me. I am afraid that the lights will not shine as brightly with his passing. May God bless his family and help them through this difficult time.

Dear Pat, Andrea, Anthony, and Kristen-- Our family was so shocked and saddened to read of Tony's untimely death. He has done so much for Clifton and the community at large, and he was always such a sweetheart. I have fond memories of sharing responsibilities for the well-being of the Clifton Dam and the waters headed for the Mill. Karen, Kristen, John, and I considered your family to be special neighbors and friends; and though we no longer reside in Clifton, memories of our 26 years of life there inevitably include Tony's leadership and beneficent presence in the community. God be with you all; may He bring you comfort and healing.

I was very sorry to hear of Uncle Tony's passing. My prayers are with all of you and I have left you a poem in hopes of comfort.
When we lose someone we love
The loss seems too great to bear
God sends us friends to comfort us
To show that He deeply cares

But in the dark hours of the night
When there’s nobody else around
When we feel the saddest and loneliest
It’s there God’s love can be found

It’s like a soothing, healing balm
To soothe our broken hearts
The healing oil poured over us
That flows into every part

We can rest secure in God’s love
And know He’s by our side
He holds us when we feel as though
A part of us has died

We can know that God will listen
When we just want to talk
And when we feel we need to cry
We can share it with the Lord

For He is always waiting there
Ready with arms open wide
As we pour out the hurt within
He pours His love inside

Our Father above loves us so much
And will never leave us alone
He will not forsake us in our need
To face this on our own

He comforts us and strengthens us
And rubs us with His balm
And as the dawn breaks through the night
We’ll awake in His loving arms.

I am so glad I was able to visit with Tony this past Thanksgiving while visiting my family. The Mill has always been a special place in our heart...and TONY made that happen! We have so many wonderful pictures that we will cherish forever....a special one to me and Brooke....is when Tony wanted to put her face on all the bags of flour...that was in 89...when she was in the parade riding in the buggy with the bonnet and dress he gave her to wear. I am so thankful for all the memories of Tony. I have been wearing Design...for years now!! He will truly be missed by us all.

Much love to you all....

Both of my daughters were in awe of the celebration of Christmas through the lights provided by Mr. Satariano. They were ages 8 and 4 at the time of our first visit. Yearly subsequent visits still enthralled all of us and added to the wonder of the season. They are now age 30 and 26, and at Christmas still mention the lights at Clifton. As we remember our love of the season and the reason for it, we remember you, Mr. Satariano. Thank you, so much, for the peace and warmth your display played upon us. I think someone up there where you are now agrees. God created men like you to address what is in our hearts, if only during that holy part of the year. God bless you and all who love you. We do. We've been gone from Ohio for a while, but you are still mentioned at Christmas. Appropriate, don't you think?

My heart sank when I heard the news of Tony's passing on this morning's news.

Tony was a terrific guy, and a real "Father Christmas"; and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him, brainstorming the best way to figure out how to create the "Flying Reindeer" mounts that now occupy the Santa Room. Though I created the mounts, it was Tony who figured out the simple yet clever way to make my hinged deer legs move ... by hooking them up to an oscillating fan motor!

That was Tony! Always looking for a way to create a better Christmas display for his public. Tony always greeted everyone himself, and made it a point to spend some one-on-one time with his guests.

He will be terribly missed! My heartfelt sympathies go out to his immediate family, his Mill family, and the extended family he created by his generous and giving spirit. Tony was one of a kind!

Rest well, my friend.
