Beth Thomas Obituary
THOMAS, Beth A proud Daytonian, passed away February 12, 2018. She was born October 17, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Norma Wiggenhorn Thomas and Wendell P. Thomas, Jr., both of whom predeceased her. Beth is survived by two cousins, Deborah (Paul) VanHoose and David (Rebecca) Wiggenhorn, each of Springfield, Ohio; one nephew, Craig Wiggenhorn, of Hillsboro, Oregon; and a host of friends, including college friend, Nancy Hansen, of Portland, Washington. In 1970, Beth earned a B. A. Political Science from Principia College. Beth was an active, lifelong member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Centerville, Ohio, serving over the years as Clerk, Secretary, Second Reader and Sunday School Teacher. Beth was also well-known in the Centerville community, having volunteered with The Heart of Centerville, the Americana Festival, the Panerians and the Girl Scouts. After college, Beth worked for a few years at The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, and had a lifelong affinity for Boston as a result. She later worked at Channel 16 and Right Management in career management and delivered training to thousands at GM, GE and other Fortune 500 companies. Beth's training took her all over the United States, as well as Europe, China, Hyderabad, India, Mexico and Canada, aligning company goals, systems and personnel toward growth. Beth had a keen eye for identifying areas for potential growth. She had her own training business with Sally Kindrick-Ekkens before taking her skills to Blue Gill Consulting Group LLC as its Vice President Training in 2012. Beth added manager of Career Choice for Blue Gill in 2015. Beth often showcased her skills as a public speaker, training developer and coach. Her training style was unique and included her keen sense of humor and quick wit. She was always a big hit when training licensed contractors. Beth was an expert in interpersonal communication, customer service, team building, and career management. Beth enjoyed all things Dayton, relishing in its rich history. A lifelong learner, Beth became certified as a Professional Behaviors and Motivators Analyst in 2010. Beth enjoyed meeting new people and bringing out the best in everyone she met. She left the world a better place. Beth requested no funeral services.
