MAAS (Moore), Karen J. Born to the Russell A and Pauline A (Cunning) Moore on 2/20/1947 in Dayton, Ohio passed away on July 25, 2016 in Tipp City, Ohio after a courageous four month battle against brain cancer. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Nicole and Scott Casey of Bloomington, IL and Scott's two daughters Lauren and Sydney Casey. Karen was a graduate of Colonel White High School, class of '65 and was active with the reunion committee for the past fifteen years. Karen studied business at the University of Cincinnati prior to her marriage to E Russell Maas in 1971. Karen is predeceased by her father, Russell A Moore, her mother, Pauline A Cunning Moore, and her half-brother, James E Moore USAF retired. Karen was a Real Estate agent for ReMax Victory, and had worked prior with Coldwell Banker/Heritage Realtors for 24 years before retiring in 2015. Karen loved traveling the Caribbean with her mother, her best friend Karen Francis, and her many traveling companions that became known as "the Golden Girls" in their trips to over 14 islands over a period of 25 years. Her favorite island was Saint Martin where she spent many vacations over the past 15 years. Her favorite saying was "sun, sand, cheap booze, and gold" so Saint Martin fit the bill in all aspects. Karen's battle with cancer was shared daily on the caringbridge.org where her story was followed by hundreds of friends and family members. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Hospice for their loving support and care of Karen in her final months. Cremation was performed by Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to .
