Lindy Beasley Obituary
BEASLEY (Wilder), Lindy Louise Age 95, of Carrollton, Georgia, was born in Roopville, Carroll County, Georgia, January 22, 1923 and departed this life peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica, Georgia. She was the fifth child of twelve children born to the late B. W. "Preach" Wilder and Lessie Lucille Clark Wilder. Lindy joined Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Ned Dunson at the age of 11 years old. She met and married Amos Richard Beasley, January 6, 1941. They moved to Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio in 1946. To this union, three beautiful flowers were born, Mary Emma, Jacqueline Marie, and Norvis Louise. After moving to Dayton, Ohio, Lindy joined St. Luke Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. David Revere. Later she joined the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. David Demus. She then moved on and joined the Mount Moriah Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Morris Smyth and after Rev. Morris Smyth's retirement, she was under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Herman L. Walker. She was a faithful member until her health failed and she had to move to Carrollton, Carroll County, Georgia with her daughter. She went under watch care at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Franklin, Heard County, Georgia under the leadership of Rev. Anthony Pierce, Sr. In 1949, Lindy joined the Morning Stars Gospel Singers. She was a member for 53+ until her health failed. She was employed by the Law Paper Company, Dayton, Ohio, until her accident on the icy steps in January 1971, whereas she injured her back. She was unable to work or "bowl" (which was her favorite sport.) However, the accident did not hinder or diminish her spirit. Lindy was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Amos Beasley; parents, B. W. "Preach" Wilder and Lessie Lucille Clark Wilder-Johnson; step-father, Venley "Pop" Johnson; six sisters: Lovella Wilder, Martha Wilder, Amelia Wilder Ware-Griffin, Mary Wilder Kelley- Harris, Pauline Wilder Farris, and Christine Wilder Tidwell; four brothers: Wilbur Wilder, Charles Wilder, Grover Wilder, and Ralph Wilder; and one grandson: Shawn Anthony Dedrick.She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters: Mary E. Dedrick, Jacqueline M. Dobbs, and Norvis L. (Harry) Dunson, all of Carrollton, Georgia, nine grandchildren: Tina (John) Jennings, Dayton, Ohio, Pamela Staples, Middletown, Ohio, Victoria Dedrick, Dayton, Ohio, Andre'(Canova) McDonald, Kelley Farris both of Carrollton, Georgia, Kenneth (Stephanie) Dedrick, Winchester, Tennessee, Kenetia (Tony) Shackleford, Kyran (Gail) Thomaston, Sr., Temple, Georgia, Ora (Sandor) Chism, Carrollton, Georgia; 45 great grandchildren, 40 great- great grandchildren; one sister: Vora McCoy, Carrollton, Georgia; sister-in-law Billie Ann (Judge) Buchanan, Bowdon, Georgia; god-daughter: Joann Marks, Dayton, Ohio, god-son: James(Lillie) Gray, Dayton, Ohio, special pet: Kalani; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Family, Franklin, Georgia, and the Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church Family, Dayton, Ohio. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 27. Her favorite songs were "Pass Me Not" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus". She loved her daughters, sister, and family. Her favorite saying to everyone was "God loves you and so do I" and to her grandchildren was "I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck." Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., TUESDAY, January 15, 2018 at MT.MORIAH MISSIONARY BAPITST CHURCH, 301 Mia Ave., with Pastor Herman L. Walker, officiating. The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be held 11:00 a.m., WEDNESDAY, January 16, 2019 at Dayton National Cemetery.
