Rubert STRINGFIELD Obituary
STRINGFIELD, Rubert 97, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018 at his home. He was born in Scott County, Tennessee on Jan. 15, 1921 to Frank & Matilda (Young) Stringfield. Rubert was retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He served our country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of American Legion Post #613. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mina, infant daughter, Michelle Darlene, and 7 siblings. Survived by 5 daughters, Brenda Brooks (Ronald), Barbara Stookey (Kent), Charlotte Elkins (Robert), Diane Hilgeford, Vickie Schenck (Herbert); son, Douglas Stringfield (Katie); 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren & 4 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews & many friends. Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2018 at the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, "Northridge Chapel," 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road. Chaplain Rich Fitzwater, officiating. Interment Royal Oak Memorial Gardens, Brookville. The family will receive friends 12 noon Monday, prior to the service, at the George C. Martin Funeral Home.
