SPIVEY, Russell Edward age 88 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Miamisburg, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 at National Healthcare Corporation (NHC) in Oak Ridge, TN. He was born in Estill County, KY on July 17, 1924 to the late Henry and Pearl (Dixon) Spivey. In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his siblings, Beulah Spivey, Hubert Spivey, Arnold Spivey, Willie Jo (Spivey) Baker, and Katheryn (Spivey) Bach. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Cathryn (Treadway) Spivey of Knoxville; his son, Mark R. (Penny) Spivey of Knoxville; grandchildren, Benjamin J. Spivey of West Carrollton, Elizabeth N. Spivey of Miamisburg, Rachel E. McConkey of Knoxville, and Abigail G. McConkey of Knoxville; as well as many other friends and extended family. Russell was US Navy WWII veteran and worked as a quality assurance inspector for General Motors (Harrison Radiator) for 45 years before retiring. He was a member of the Miamisburg First Church of God, a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Solar Lodge #730 and member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Family will receive friends from 12:00 noon - 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will begin 2:00 PM also on Tuesday and officiated by Pastor John Naylor. Burial will follow services at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to a local hospice organization of your choice.
