Col. (USAF Ret.) Peter SMITH Obituary
SMITH, Col. (USAF Ret.) Peter Story On May 24th, we lost our Dad although he would've insisted he's not exactly "lost" as he is in our hearts forever. Our Dad served in Vietnam and continued his career in the USAF for 27 years. After 13 assignments and 18 address changes, he retired at Wright-Patterson AFB where he was Program Manager in the F-22 engine program. After his AF retirement, he enjoyed a second career with Dayton Aerospace Inc. Aside from the love for his country, our Dad's one true love was his high school sweetheart and wife of 51 years, Carol (Angioletti). He always enjoyed recalling the story of the first time he saw and fell in love with her at the Dairy Queen in Tenafly, NJ. He was the proud father of three amazing kids and their spouses; daughter Cynthia and Sam Pratt, daughter Jennifer and Tom Lingafelter and son Matthew and Renee Smith. Our Dad loved being "Poppy" to Ashley, Izabella, Andrew, Emily, Porter and Wyatt. As he always said to us, when it stops being fun, it's time Sharing of Memories will be 5:30 PM Friday, June 2, 2017 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd at Grange Hall Rd. Family will receive friends Friday from 3-5:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial at Arlington National Cemetery will be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Annie's Team - National Brain Tumor Society www.braintumorcommunity.org/goto/annie. Online condolences may be sent to www.tobiasfuneralhome.com
