Paula STEINKE Obituary
STEINKE (Fugate), Paula Lin Age 59, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on June 2, 2018 at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay, Ohio after a long and courageous battle with a rare kidney disease. She was born on October 11, 1958, in Dayton, Ohio to Paul and Barbara Fugate. Paula was a 1976 graduate of Valley View High School in Germantown, Ohio. Paula worked many years as a State Tested Nursing Assistant at Heartland of Centerville and Manor Care nursing facilities in the Dayton, Ohio area, giving care, peace and comfort to so many of her patients and their families. Paula was known to have a loving and kind heart, focused on many of life's simple treasures, such as spoiling her grandchildren and spending time with her three sons and daughter. Paula was preceded in death by her father Paul Fugate, but left to honor Paula and remember her love are Paula's four children, Daniel Carter of New Carlisle, Adam (Amy) Carter of Dayton, Joshua Carter of Findlay, Ohio; and her daughter, Rachel Carter of Dayton, Ohio; eight grandchildren; her sister, Cynthia (Mike) Ruschmann of Centerville; her mother Barbara Fugate; special friends Helen, Joe, and James; and numerous friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Paula would like to give a special thanks to the medical staff and professionals at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Bridge Hospice Center, and U.S Renal Care in Findlay, Ohio for their attentiveness and loving care. Paula also wants to express her love and gratitude to her son Joshua and Tara Griffith for opening their home to her and ensuring she made it to medical appointments during her final months. The family will celebrate Paula's life at Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Dayton, OH 45432, on Thursday, June 7, with visitation from 7:00 -8:00 p.m. followed by an informal service from 8:00-8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paula's name to Bridge Hospice Center of Findlay.
